"CÁDIZ PREHISTÓRICO" INTERPRETATION CENTRE
In March 2009 it was founded in our township the interpretation centre “Cádiz Prehistórico”. It is a building of recent construction and its rooms are delivered throughout the 3 floors. It also has an interior patio and a room for activities.
Through the eleven rooms we can make a tour through the prehistory of the province, each of these rooms bring us closer to the atmosphere of that time. It shows us its customs, rites, ways of living and over all, its evolution epoch after epoch.
In this only building we can walk through every route that we find in these grounds of Cádiz. In additions, all this will be easier and more pleasant thanks to the environmental reproduction with sounds, images, lights… etc. An interactive and dynamic place perfect for learning and discovering the aspects of the everyday life of our ancestors.

HOUSE-MUSEUM "LAS CÚPULAS"
The House-Museum “Las Cúpulas” (The domes) is located in Las Lagunetas, in the direction of Los Barrios, disseminated of Benlup-Casas Viejas.
The local sculptor Manuel Máñez had already worked other materials manually before working in sculpting. He worked on cork, making ploughs, yokes, wooden bowls, etc.
In 1986 he began sculpting wood, turning it into his art. During his lifetime, he made many sculptures, statues of the Virgin Nuestra Señora del Socorro, statues of people, animals, etc. A great variety that nowadays is exhibited in the House-Museum “Las Cúpulas”, which today still keeps his family. This Museum was made in life by the sculptor.
The sculptures exhibited in the House Museum have been carried to exhibitions in other villages, programs of the autonomous television, etc. The ex president of the Government, Felipe González, a friend of the sculptor lauded “the incredible fusion between África and Picasso” in the work of Manuel Mañez. In june 2009, the sculptor died. Three months before, the City Council of Benalup-Casas Viejas awarded him with the Golden Medal of the township in the Plenary on behalf of the Independence Anniversary.
The House-Museum can be visited every day in the mornings and afternoons.
